The Ginn residence is a classic example of the importance of building trust with a client. Freedom is an artist’s greatest muse and a client’s uncompromising faith in the architect’s design often produces the best results.
The house is turned on its head with the bedrooms on the first floor and the main living areas, which are totally open, on top. In keeping with the spirit of Pentago design, the landscape and the living space function as one. Bathrooms, showers and spa areas in the gardens blend with the stone exteriors and lush greenery. Abundant open space caters to active children, curious guests and restless pets alike.
The pool makes a powerful centrepiece, with a prominent sculpture at the end that symbolically frames the landscape surrounding the house.
The extensive open planning embodies classic Pentago style traits: high ceilings connected by open spaces, elevation and cross ventilation, lots of water bodies and scenery-driven orientation.
