The majestic Shangri-La Hotel sits in the heart of the city, a modern tropical structure built around a series of internal gardens and courtyards.
Pentago was involved in the renovation work to upgrade the then 20-year-old hotel, providing both the interior and exterior water features, as well as several gardens within the property. The rear garden was built on top of the existing car park to simulate a jungle, with the pond and forested backdrops on top of the deck to give guests a tropical vibe within the compound and in keeping with the signature Shangri-La Motif.
This also served as a buffer for the service entry area and created a view for the lobby. As with many of Pentago’s designs, the water features blended seamlessly with the building itself.
